The Chosen One Turns 30
While turning 30 may not be such a big deal to most people, when you’re a vampire slayer, it is. Slayers rarely live to see 20 years of age, and often die alone. Not only has Buffy always surrounded herself with powerful allies, but she also made every potential slayer into full-blown Edward dusters.
Is it weird to celebrate the birth of a fictional character? Well, if it is, imagine me with a pointy hat and a kazoo. I’m a geek: I love my heroes, and I celebrate them. Buffy is my favorite hero, and honestly, a lot of male heroes could stand to take a few notes from the former cheerleader. I am also not alone in my celebration! Geek Girl Con is holding several birthday bashes for our slayer and one woman I follow on Twitter suggested making red velvet cake and writing Buffy vs. Edward fanfic. Yes.
If you haven’t yet experienced Buffy *ahem Robert Palmer* I highly suggest you take it up. Me? I’m making cookies. Just don’t take them out of the oven; they aren’t finished baking yet.
